Hangar LED Lighting

Hangars punish bad layouts. Height and volume amplify every design mistake.

Stellar plans hangar LED lighting for high-ceiling, large-footprint spaces, so work areas stay usable and energy isn't spent lighting empty cubic feet.

Why hangars are different

Aircraft hangars and similar high-volume buildings combine extreme mounting heights with wide open floors, door operations that change ambient conditions, and mixed task needs: taxi and tow paths, maintenance bays and offices at the edge.

Legacy HID systems often deliver glare hotspots and weak coverage at the floor. A modern super high bay approach only works if aiming, spacing and light levels are designed for that volume.

Stellar

The Stellar approach

  • Photometric design for large-volume spaces
  • High-ceiling LED fixtures, including Super High Bay when the design calls for it
  • Coordination with warehouse-style zones when a campus mixes hangar and storage (see high bay LED warehouse lighting)
  • Energy-efficient LED upgrades built on circular economics

Fixture detail stays on the product page. This page stays focused on the hangar and the design.

Photometric design for hangars

Bring clear heights, door locations and work-zone sketches when you can. Counts pulled from a generic watts-per-square-foot rule miss how hangars actually get used.

Questions

FAQ

Is hangar lighting the same as warehouse high bay?

Similar fixture classes can appear, but hangar volumes, door cycles and aircraft clearances change the design. Don't copy a warehouse fixture list into a hangar.

Can you light maintenance bays differently from the open floor?

Yes. That's a photometric zoning question, so tell us how the space is used by shift.

What light levels do you design to?

Design targets are set per project against applicable guidance and your operational needs.

Is photometric design free?

No. Photometric design starts at $0.50/sq ft with a 1,000 sq ft minimum.
